Personal Trainer / Personal Training, Glasgow South
Outdoor personal training based in Glasgow’s Southside and online!
Moving our bodies is one of the kindest things we can do for ourselves. Whether it's taking a walk around the park on a Sunday, playing in your local football league on a weeknight, or practicing yoga at home during your lunchtime break. But it can be hard to find the motivation. Often we're too tired or sore and exercise is just another commitment in our already busy lives. Some of us struggle with recurring injuries and some of us have never really found an activity we enjoy and want to do regularly. At Moving Parts, our focus is to find movement which brings you joy and benefits your body and mind in order for you to build an active, healthy life. Personal training is for everyone!

WHAT WE DO
Find movement that brings you joy
Are you dragging yourself to the gym once a week, but don’t actually enjoy what you’re doing, or where you are doing it? To be healthy, we need to do 10,000 steps a day, go to the gym, or complete a 5k every week. Or, so we think. Yes, these things can be part of a healthy movement routine, but they don’t have to be. It's a lot easier to build new habits, and sustain them, if we actually enjoy what we're doing! And that activity is different for every person. Build foundational strength to stay injury free
Have you recently (or not so recently) found an activity you love but your body isn’t keeping up? Running, ball or racket sports should be for everyone. However, multi-directional sports can be incredibly taxing on our bodies and it’s important to have foundational strength, mobility and flexibility to prevent injuries. If you want help understanding what your body needs to keep you strong enough to do the fun stuff, contact us now or check out our coaching options: personal training and online coaching.
Effective programming to meet your goals
Whether your goals are competitive, functional, or just for fun - effective, flexible programming will help you achieve these goals in a healthy way. From squatting your next Personal Best or climbing your first Munro, to being able to carry your heavy shopping bags home without having to rest, Moving Parts will help you set realistic goals and plan a weekly routine that will ensure your success. Meet the coach
Hi, my name is Jan (she/her) and I’m a level 3 Personal Trainer.
I’ve been enthusiastic about sports and exercise from a young age. I embraced team sports in school and university where I played basketball and football and participated in swim and athletics competitions. I became passionate about grassroots football in my twenties, and fell in love with hillwalking and Animal Flow in my thirties. Finding movement and activity that I enjoy, which feels good and is functional (i.e. results in me being able to do something I couldn’t before) is an absolute priority for me, and something I want to instill in my clients. Physical activity has been a passion and joy for me and I’m excited to help others find happiness in movement.
A bit about me
The benefits of living an active life are immense for your physical health and mental wellbeing. We also know that being outdoors can calm our minds, reduce stress levels, and improve our sleep. As your coach, I will focus on exercise that you'll enjoy and look forward to. In-person coaching will predominantly happen outdoors to reap those extra benefits.
So, if you're interested in having a positive and enthusiastic personal trainer - who'll prioritise health as well as fun - get in touch!
